Mignon Petites
Mignon Petites
Doggie (Puggle)
I used to think that Pocket Puggles were a tiny, well…pocket-size versions of the Puggle. While Pockets are smaller in size than regular Puggles, there is no definite standard for separating the sizes fro each other. I made our Puggle Mignon with the thought of pocket-size toys.
Pocket or not, I’m drawn to the Puggle because it is extremely cute and affectionate. And also because the breed almost never happened. As far as I know, it was an accidental happenstance where a purebred beagle mom and a purebred pug dad created the first generation mix-breed Puggle. Why this is a remarkable story is that the breeding intention started out by having the gender of mom and dad inverted: The male Beagle was paired with the female Pug, leading to the untimely early demise of the little pups that resulted from the unions. This sad event happened so many times that really, the design almost led nowhere.
When you read about the Pocket Puggle, you find that it may also be a Pug and Rat terrier cross. I bet there is a real possibility there for pocket-size offspring. Nevertheless, the Puggle made it into our collection of Mignons because of the personality traits they exhibit: Very high friendliness quotient from mom, and very high affectionate quotient from dad. Add a dash of cute face, and you got yourself a best friend for life. And what more is to ask for?!
